Sometimes you just have to be at the right place at the right time.
I just was refueling my car and was about to pay (way too much, but that's another story) when a father and his young son where behind me. The father had a magazine in his hand: "Zeitzeugen". It's basically a reprint of old German newspapers from World War II. It's full of remarks from scientists and historians and shows how the press during the reign of the Nazis worked. Quite educational, I'll tell you that.
So the father read something in that magazine when his son asked:
"What do you read?"
The father replied:
"Something about the second World War."
Son: "Oh, I know! We just learned about it in the school! Wasn't it a war where Germany fought against the entire world?" (Minus Japan...)
Father: "Yes. Germany tried to take the world but ended up being smaller than before."
Son: "Oh, I'm glad to hear that!"
Father: "Yes, isn't it?"
Son: "Totally! Otherwise I would have to learn far more German city names in geography!"
I had to bite into my fist in order not to laugh out loud. I love children. Makes history soooo much easier when you're a child.
